FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Where can I find a color copier?

Color copiers can be found at most instant printing stores and office supply stores.

What is the actual size of the opening in each frame?

The size of the opening will vary from style to style.  To find the size you need, go to the “Shop Now” page and select the style you are interested in.  You will see the opening size(s) listed beneath the product description.

How are the pictures secured in the miniature frame?

Each frame has recessed corners that hold pictures.  Additionally, each frame comes with a protective acetate cover that is placed over the picture.

How do I remove pictures from the frame?

Pictures and acetate cover can be easily removed using a straightened paper clip either through a small hole in the back or on the side of the frame.  Download a complete set of instructions or watch our instructional video on the “EZ Fit™ Photo Reduction System” page of this website.

Do you have instructions in other languages?

Yes, you can download a complete set of instructions on the “EZ Fit™ Photo Reduction System” page of this website.  This download will include instructions in English, Spanish, German and French.

Can I obtain a new template?

Yes, you can contact us and we will mail you a new template or you can download the template you need on the “EZ Fit™ Photo Reduction System” page of this website.

Can I use digital pictures from my camera or scanner?

Yes, digital images can be printed out on your home printer instead of using a color copier.  However, digital images can vary in size and resolution.  Your home computer must be equipped with a software package that can reduce and crop the image.  Please refer to the software manual for additional guidance.  The image must be reduced to a specific size to fit perfectly in the miniature frame.  This measurement can also be found on the EZ Fit™ photo reduction template that is included with your Memory Maker® product.

What is the best way to crop my pictures?

Cropping simply means to trim.  Perhaps you have a group shot and you only want one face or your picture has too much background.  The EZ Fit™ photo reduction system will allow you to easily isolate the area of the picture to be cropped.  Download a complete set of instructions or watch our instructional video on the “EZ Fit™ Photo Reduction System” page of this website for more guidance.

What happens if my Memory Maker® comes into contact with water?

Whether you use original photo prints or color copies, water will damage any picture.  Although the pictures are protected somewhat by an acetate cover it is recommended that bracelet not be worn in situations where water can contact the bracelet.  Color copies and color laser prints can be protected by lamination.

If you are printing your photos on a home color printer, waterproof inkjet paper is now available from Epson and other brands.

Can I laminate my pictures?

Yes, you can laminate the pictures.  Laminating will protect pictures from damage caused by moderate moisture, humidity and fading due to prolonged exposure to sunlight.  However, we recommend that your photo reduction be altered slightly to accommodate for the laminate material.  When laminating, it is required that a seal be formed around the edge of the picture.  To allow for this seal, it is recommended that your picture be reduced by an additional 4%.  For example, if the EZ Fit™ photo reduction template calls for a 40% reduction, you would reduce to 36%, making the copy slightly smaller.  The thickness of the laminated picture will not prevent you from placing the picture in the frame.

Can I use my original photo prints instead of making copies?

If you would like to use your original prints you will have to trim them to fit correctly in the frame.  The EZ Fit™ photo reduction template has one window marked “Actual Size”.  You can use this window as a guide.  Place template over your photograph, trace a border and then trim.

Can I use a picture from a professional photographer?

Pictures taken by a professional photographer are copyrighted and can only be reproduced with permission.

What if my original photo is too large for the EZ Fit Template?

This can be solved by using a two-step reduction process. First, reduce the original photo by 50% without the use of template.  Then use the template as normal.

How do I know what size bracelet I wear?

Take a piece of string and wrap around your wrist.  Tighten or loosen the string depending on how you like to comfortably wear a bracelet.  Cut the string and measure to determine your wrist size. Remember that most Memory Maker® bracelets are constructed using a high quality elastic and do stretch.

Can I enlarge my bracelet?

Your local bead shop can help with any Memory Maker® stretch bracelet.  Bead shops can add beads between the frames and restring with new stretch elastic material.  Be sure to request high quality elastic.

Memory Maker® bracelets made with linked chains or fixed coils can not be enlarged.

What is the jewelry made of?

Most Memory Maker® products are made of a mixture of metals which contain some nickel.  Individuals with allergies to nickel should choose one of our Memory Maker® sterling silver styles.

Will the costume silver plating turn?

No, the plating used is called Rhodium which contains no real silver, therefore it will not turn.
